According to the Public Relations office of the IRIPP, members of the Pesticide Supervision Board and Plant Protection Organization managers visited the Pesticide Residue Reference Laboratory of Pesticide Research Department and got to know about its capabilities. In a meeting held in the presence of the institute's managers, they engaged in scientific discussions and exchanged ideas regarding the pesticide registration process.
In this meeting in the presence of Shahram Naeimi, Director, Ahmad Heydari, Deputy Director of Planning and Support, and Shahram Shahrokhi, Deputy Director of Research, the activities of the laboratory in four main areas were reviewed.
These areas included investigating the kinetics of pesticide degradation in agricultural products in order to determine the pre-harvest interval and half-life of pesticides, as well as determining Maximum Residue Limits (MRL) based on the kinetic equation, tracking pesticide metabolites, assessing the health risk of pesticide residues in children and adult consumers, and implementing research contracts related to pesticide residue monitoring with the Deputy of Agronomy and Horticulture of the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad.
