According to the public relations office of the Iranian Research Institute of Plant Protection, Dr. Hadi Mosallanejad, the faculty member of the Agricultural Entomology Research Department, delivered a virtual lecture on “The Pest Control Status and Pesticides consumption trend in Iran” in the panel of the application of nanotechnology in plant protection as the first speaker in the panel on Thursday, November 18, 2021.
He pointed out that chemical control of the agricultural pests in Iran is carried out in an area of about twenty million hectares with the consumption of about 27,000 tons of pesticides. Of this amount, 75% of the pesticides are used in crops and 25% in horticultural products. He continued his speech discussing the challenges of pesticide use in Iran.
